Photoshop Pro Help uses Adobe Photoshop and may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist with photograph restoration, retouching, image reconstruction, background replacement, creative editing and other professional photo-editing services.
AI Services and Providers
My editing workflow primarily involves Adobe Photoshop, including its AI-assisted features where appropriate.
I have also used external AI services provided by OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok) and Meta (Meta AI) to assist with customer editing projects.
For future projects, I intend to use business or commercial versions of AI services where available and appropriate, taking account of their privacy, security and data-processing arrangements.
The particular services used may change over time, and not every AI provider is involved in every customer project.
Processing of Customer Photographs
Some projects involve uploading or transmitting customer photographs, selected portions of images, editing instructions or related project information to external AI providers so that the requested editing work can be carried out.
This processing may involve photographs containing recognisable individuals or other personal information. External AI providers may receive, process and retain submitted information according to their applicable contractual terms, privacy policies, account settings and service arrangements.
Depending on the service provider, some processing may take place outside the United Kingdom.
Lawful Processing and Privacy Safeguards
I assess the purposes and necessity of external AI processing and take appropriate steps to establish a lawful basis, consider the nature of the photographs involved and review the relevant provider’s security, confidentiality and contractual arrangements.
Where required, I will also consider appropriate data-processing agreements, international transfer safeguards and any additional protections necessary for sensitive or confidential material.
I aim to minimise unnecessary disclosure of customer information and use appropriate service settings and business-focused processing arrangements where available and suitable.
AI Model Training and Retention
The ways in which AI providers handle customer information can differ between personal and business accounts. Where available, I use privacy controls and suitable commercial arrangements intended to restrict the use of submitted content for AI model training.
However, restrictions on model training do not necessarily prevent other processing, storage or retention by the service provider.
Information submitted to external AI providers may remain subject to their own retention and deletion arrangements. Deleting a photograph from my local computer or email system does not automatically remove copies held by an external service.
Customer Information and Choice
I explain the use of AI-assisted editing through my website policies and, where appropriate, provide additional information about relevant external processing arrangements before undertaking a project.
Where consent or additional authorisation is legally required for particular processing, this will be addressed separately. Submitting a photograph does not automatically constitute consent to every possible use or disclosure of personal information.
The optional portfolio, social media and paid advertising permissions on my Hire Me form are separate from the use of AI services to carry out customer editing projects.
Professional Oversight
I remain responsible for overseeing AI-assisted editing work, reviewing results and making appropriate corrections to completed photographs.
